A hotel that is still a rock

The construction project for the Khorramabad Rock Hotel began in 1998, but 21 years later, there is still no news of its opening.   The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Lorestan Province stated in his last statement that there is no news about the investor of this hotel.   According to Seyed Amin Ghasemi, the hotel's main investor, he will not attend any meetings, and the project is completely uncertain.

The British government's plan to force quarantine passengers on international flights is foolish and unenforceable

Ryanair Airlines CEO Michael O'Leary emphasized;   Neither passengers have complied with the new restrictions, nor do the police have the capacity to monitor its proper implementation.  The 14-day quarantine of passengers has no medical or scientific basis, and the best course of action is to use a mask.  The plan has no credibility and is likely to be called off in the coming weeks until the end of June due to disobedience by passengers.

The order to demolish two floors of a large hotel in Athens was issued due to the deterioration of the landscape of the historic Acropolis complex.  Now the five-star, high-rise hotel, which has been in operation for more than a year, is forced to demolish its two upper floors.  The hotel is currently 31.5 meters high and should not be more than 24 meters high.

Alireza Khazaeli, Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts office of Qazvin Province announced;   In the last 5 years, the province's accommodation capacity has increased as much as in the last 30 years.  The Baghdadi, Nowruzian, Alamut and Diamond West hotels in Avaj are among the major hotels being completed this year.  The construction of five-star hotels in Qazvin province is one of the most important investment priorities that has not yet been achieved.

Bankruptcy of Japanese hotels and airlines in the Coronavirus crisis

According to a study published by a research company in Japan, 33 hotels in this country have gone bankrupt so far.  On the other hand, the number of passengers on international and domestic flights of Nippon Airlines in March decreased by 72% and 60%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.  Also, the number of passengers on domestic and international flights of Japan Airlines has decreased by 73% and 57%, respectively.

Announcement of summer travel plan by European Commission

The European Commission has unveiled a multi-step plan to reopen borders, airports and hotels in the summer to save the tourism industry from the crisis.   Under the proposed plan, travel restrictions between EU member states, which have similar conditions in terms of the number of people infected with the coronavirus, will be reduced.   Online purchase of tickets, reduced number of passengers in vehicles, use of masks, access to disinfecting gels during travel and no drink and food service on airplanes and ships are among the proposals of the European Commission.  A reduction in the number of employees has also been proposed.
